What I Learned:
When WW1 ended, people wanted to scapegoat, to blame all of their problems onto a specific people. Adolf Hitler joined a political group called the German Worker Party and spoke speeches about how Jewish and Marxist people were the reason why Germany was suffering. Angry over the inflation, Hitler tried to take over the Bavaria government. He failed and was sentenced to jail for five years and wasn't aloud to present his speeches until 1927 because they are considered to agitating for the public. During this time, Hitler wrote a book about his political ideas called Mein Kampf, which illuminated his German nationalism, his antisemitism and his anticommunism. He imagined that the perfect Germany would be a place of strong Aryan people with no Jews, Marxists or Social Democrats. To achieve his goals, Hitler didn't try to go the violent approach again, but rather worked his way up to power before he ruled the entire country. On October 1929, the America's economy crashed because of the loans they were giving to Germany. This sent a domino effect where the entire world had slower trade and high unemployment. Europeans were unable to handle this economy crisis, leaving people to look towards totalitarian leaders, which is when one person controls the entire state. Questions I have: Where does Hitler's hatred for Jewish people come from? How many people joined Hitler in the Beer Hall Putsch? Why would Hitler consider Aryans to be the master race if he isn't Aryan in the first place? What countries suffered the most during the Great Depression?
