What I learned:
The Treaty of Versailles (which was signed in France) was targeted towards the Germans to pay for the damage of the war. Germany was deprived of land and military and had to pay around 30 billion dollars for war reparations. Because of the defeat, the Germans switched from an imperial government to a democratic government in an attempt to salvage the country's hope. This new Germany government was known as the Weimar Republic, where there would be a prime minister and freedom for political parties, bill of rights and women voting. Yet, the Weimar Republic wasn't an effective way to rule a country, it was impossible to form a coalition, people were angry about the treaty and the new government and they saw the Weimar Republic as weak. Not only that, but from 1922-1923, the economy was fluctuating due to the rampant inflation. Germany currency became worthless, and so did the Weimar Republic. People lost faith and started looking towards extremist leaders to solve the problems the Germans had Questions that I have: During the time of the Weimar republic, were there any attempts to revolutions against the government? Did any other countries besides America help Germany when it came to the reparations? What were some of the political parties?
